Founded in Rennes (France) in 2017, instrumental bass-drums two-piece ALBER JUPITER draw inspiration from Berlin’s 70s krautrock scene or Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s hallucinatory post-rock to craft a unique soundscape.
They released a stunning debut album in 2019, reminiscent of a sci-fi soundtrack. The gem entitled ‘We Are Just Floating in Space’ blasted off a full European tour, supporting international psychedelic rock acts such as Föllakzoid, Camera, Acid Mothers Temple and Minami Deutsch. The duet caught the ear of les TransMusicales festival in Rennes, France, who booked them to perform five nights in a row in December of the same year.
2020 should have continued in the same vein, with the band’s name on Dutch festival Roadburn’s line up, but the COVID crisis decided otherwise. However, ALBER JUPITER took advantage of this forced break to compose and record a second album which sees them pursuing their psychedelic exploration. Their new album ‘Puis Vient La Nuit’ is set to be released in April 5th 2024 on Foudrage, with the help of Araki Records and Up In Her Room (UK).
The band played Roadburn Festival in April 19th 2024 in Tilburg (Netherlands), Desertfest London (UK) in May 17th 2024 and PostInParis in May 18th 2024. Their debut album ‘We Are Just Floating in Space’ was reissued via Mrs Red Sound on April 12th 2024.
