New album “Minor Fall” breaks a long silence with a release scheduled almost nine years after his previous effort. The jagged melancholy of the chords echoes a refined eloquence, providing multiple levels of interpretation. The songwriting is delicate, whilst each arpeggio seems to be shaped with precision. JULIEN PRAS handles words with as much agility as he combines notes, inviting the listener into a gentle introspection. The doubled vocals create a fragile, spellbinding intimacy, and the vocal harmonies are reminiscent of the compositions of Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys). The songs are crafted with the finest of care, propelling the album’s 11 tracks into an intimate, soulful and stirring pop-folk setting.
